Pretty Bad
There are so many dance movies that are so bad. "Salsa", "Take the Lead", "Havanna Nights", we could name many. Out of all the Salsa releated movies that we've seen this is the closest one to the real dancing lifestyle. Most people get into salsa dancing because they need something exciting to do in their lives.
This is exactly what happened to Richard Gere in this movie. He plays the role of a man tired and bored of his job and marriage and gets to learn how to dance ballroom. By doing that, a new man is born, full of energy and a more exciting husband. It has a little bit of cheesiness just like any dance movie but it takes it to a "real" level where the main guy does not end with the instructor just like they would do in every other movie. "Shall We Dance" also includes Jennifer Lopez, Susan Sarandon, Lisa Ann Walter and Stanley Tucci among others. Check it out. Its a great date movie.

This is a re-make of a Asian Film. Which when you watch the Asian Film it's almost to the tee. I actually liked the movie. Score: 80%

I actually saw the Japanese version first and I found it very entertaining...they did a great job with the American version as far as keeping the story almost exactly the same :) Score: 0%
